Harmony Day
On Friday 19th March, RPPS celebrated Harmony Day. This day is a celebration of our cultural diversity, and it is a day where we acknowledge everyone who calls Australia home. The message of Harmony Day is ‘everyone belongs.’ Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Day. Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect.
At RPPS, we participated in a variety of Harmony Day activities in our classrooms. These included, celebrating & reading indigenous stories, creating & collaborating to make art work, listening to cultural music and wearing our traditional cultural dress or orange. Safeway at Roxburgh Park kindly donated an orange for every student too.
It was a great day!
